Istanbul International Community School
Founded in 1911 as Robert College Community School, IICS is a non-profit,
co-educational, non-sectarian, PK-12 school offering a rigorous academic
international program of studies in English to children of the international
community. IICS is the only PK-12 school in Istanbul accredited by the European
Council of International Schools (ECIS) and the New England Association of Schools
& Colleges (NEASC). IICS is one of the first schools in the world authorized by
the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer its full program of
studies. Over 400 students from over 40 different countries currently attend IICS.
More than 50% of the teaching staff holds a masters degree or higher and the average
teaching experience is over 15 years. IICS has two campuses: the Hisar Campus on the
Bosphorus, for children aged 3-9, and the Marmara Campus overlooking Buyukcekmece
Lake for children aged 3-18. Facilities include a double gymnasium, basketball and
tennis courts, a football/baseball field, a running track, an outside amphitheatre,
four science labs, three computer labs, a spacious theatre, large classrooms, and a
