Going to the
hairdressers is a
frequent issue for women in Turkey especially in the big cities. You can come
across at least one hairdresser on each street. Most women drop in their
hairdressers once or twice in a week for quick adjustments besides long-term
changes.
For good reasons of course... Hairdressers are both talented and modest in
Turkey. They follow the latest trends. They are skilled and focused and they
take their job seriously. Becoming a master is a life long career which starts
in early childhood with cleaning and carrying things, progresses with
preparing hair dye, blow drying and finally cutting and coloring.
Almost all hairdressers are men. They feel comfortable chatting with women and
can discuss all issues. Once you step into a hairdresser, you'll be pampered
until the last minute. A practical solution will be found for whatever you would
need, even something to eat if you feel hungry. Most hairdressers' saloons are
decorated nicely and they offer other beauty care solutions such as manicure and
pedicure, skin treatments and solarium.
One thing to remember: Tipping is customary.
